Choosing More Posts Over Quality Ones

October 12th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized

Posts are the heart of any blog. They attract the visitors, keep the blogger busy, and bring in the money. Posts do all this and more up until blogpost.jpgthey begin to get neglected. For what purpose you may ask? To give visitors the illusion that the blogger is putting more work into the blog then he/she actually is. This type of deception is downright stupid.

Define “Neglecting” Posts

My interpretation of neglecting posts is as follows: writing several mediocre posts as opposed to writing a few solid ones.  Some of you may disagree that this is neglect, but it reality is is. If you are not putting 100% of your effort into each and everyone of your posts, you are neglecting them. No ifs, buts and ands.

Your Visitors See Right Through Your Games

Don’t think you’re very cunning when you write 5 100-word posts in a day. Your visitors are completely aware of what your doing, and will frown upon it. Pursue your little deception tactics long enough and you might even lose all of your visitors. Remember, blogging is not a numbers game.

Visitors Want Quality, NOT Quantity

Most visitors could care less how many posts you make a day given that you make at least one solid one. You have to ask yourself what use five 100-word crap posts would have to them, as opposed to a 600-word well-thought out post. If you give your visitors what they want, they will return. Otherwise, you will be left to play in the sandbox alone.

In Closing

Sticking to quality posts is essential to catapult any blog to success. Don’t be inclined to post more just to raise your post count. Post more to spike constant interest in your visitors. This can only be achieved via high quality posts.
