BlogRush: Stats Tell All!

logo-2.pngNow that BlogRush has got their stats system up and running, its starting to become clear how effective the program is. Problogger Darren Rowse posted some of his stats on his blog, and to say the least his CTR is horrendous. Now, if you think this is just an isolated case, jump over to the John Cow blog. Pretty much the same scenario, thousands of impressions and a low number of clicks.

Who or what are we to blame for these unspectacular click through rates? Part of the problem lies in human nature. People are being greedy and placing the BlogRush widget in a location with low visibility. This is not the way to play.

The remainder of the problem lies in how bloggers are titling their posts. You have to remember that BlogRush displays your post titles with 4 others from different blogs. You have to create a unique and catchy title to stand out from those 4 other blogs. While this is definitely not a walk in the park, if you pull it off you should see a significant increase in traffic from BlogRush.
