Unless you’ve been offline for the past few days, you’ve probably already heard of the stats.jpgnew traffic-generating service, Blogrush. Elite bloggers including John Chow and Darren Rowse have been blogging about this service, creating a surge of traffic to the Blogrush site.

Before I continue with my thoughts on the program, let’s get a little idea about how BlogRush works.

  1. You add a widget to your site that displays 5 post titles from other blogs. These posts are targeted to your site depending on what category you selectected during the “Add Blog” process.
  2. Everytime the widget is displayed on your site to a visitor, you earn 1 credit.
  3. These credits are used up when one of your post titles appear on someone else’s blog.

This all sounds fine and dandy, but it seems to me that people are overlooking one very important fact. WHO are the  people using BlogRush? Traffic hungry bloggers looking to monetize their sites. So the question is, what do you hope to gain from using BlogRush? If it’s money, you might want to look elsewhere.

UPDATE: I’ve decided to take BlogRush for a spin, you can check out the widget in the sidebar. We’ll have to wait and see if it brings any traffic with monetization potential.
