new-logo-header.jpgYou click a button, wait 30 seconds, earn a credit and get free traffic. Only if getting quality visitors to your site was this easy. Unfortunately, in this day and age it is nowhere near as easy. However obvious this fact, there are still those who believe traffic exchange programs are a viable option for driving visitors to your site. It’s time we debunk this myth.

Untargeted Traffic

Traffic Exchanges, in contrast to other means of getting visitors, deliver untargetted traffic. Your ads are typically displayed for everyone, including many who have no interest in your ads. This is not good news for you.

30 Seconds or Less of Fame

A majority of traffic exchange programs only require that visitors spend 30 seconds or less on your site to earn credits. That means that within 30 seconds you need to attract the interest of your visitors. This can be a very daunting task, given that most traffic exchange surfers are there to merely accumulate credits for themselves.

Monetization Restrictions

The regulations for many money making programs including Google Adsense prohibit the use of traffic exchange programs for traffic generation. This makes monetization very difficult. Instead of earning some easy money for just getting the surfer to click a link, you now need them to sign-up for an offer or purchase something. This is difficult to achieve with a traffic exchange program.

So WHY are People Still Using These Traffic Exchange Programs?

Well, one thing that traffic exchange programs are useful for is opt-in list building. Once you get the visitors info, you can go ahead and send them your affiliate offers via email! This is probably the BEST way to utilize traffic exchange programs.
