Writing Content and Expecting Fireworks
December 17th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized
Many new bloggers are completely clueless as to what they need to do to drive traffic to their site. They develop some content, add a few images to their posts, and wait for fireworks. A few days, weeks, and finally months pass without any new visitors to their sites. So they quit - just like the countless others.
Content Alone Ain’t Gonna Cut It
Many times we forget that content is only half the game in making money online. You can have 100,000 pages worth of excellent content on your site and not make a single penny. Without traffic, your content is worthless. A site needs to have tons of backlinks (unless advertising is being paid for) to get a nice chunk of traffic.
Fireworks Come With Appropriate Time Distribution
If you do not distribute your time online, you are bound to fail. Spending too much time doing one thing (such as developing content) will almost always result in lost time. Spend a few hours developing content, and the other few marketing your site. This way, you’ll build an audience while building your content.
Patience, Patience, and More Patience
While distributing your time will help expedite your route to success, you need to remember that making money online takes time. You won’t become rich in a day or a month for that matter. Keep doing what you’re doing for several months and I guarantee you’ll start seeing results. Those who stick around for the long run will always benefit the most.
